Ambassador of Ukraine to Egypt Yevhen Mykytenko received director Michael Sturm and stage designer Sebastian Ellrich from Germany to discuss the ongoing arrangements for the premiere of Verdi’s “Aida” to be staged in the ancient Temple of Queen Hatshepsut in Luxor on October 26 and 28, 2019.
Many international and Egyptian companies are involved in the project implementation. It is planned that more than 100 musicians and singers from Ukraine will take part in the performance.

We are honored to announce that Eliska Weissova will play the role of Amneris, the daughter of the Egyptian pharaoh in our performance.
Eliska Weissova was born in Moravska Trebová (Czech Republic) and gained her Masters Degree in Music at the Prague’s Academy of Performing Arts. Her teacher was the famous Czech baryton René Tucek. In the past she attended master-classes by Nadezda Kniplova and Peter Dvorsky. Since 2004 Eliska Weissova is a permanent member at the Praque Czech National Theater and the Prague State Opera. In both opera houses she is singing innumberable roles.

We are proud to announce that the Academic Symphony Orchestra «INSO-Lviv» will be providing the Orchestra for our performance.
Despite its young age (founded in 1998) can boast the rich, versatile and successful experience of concert activity both in Ukraine and abroad. «INSO-Lviv» orchestra has been enthusiastically implementing its creative, educational and cultural diplomatic mission, constantly searching for the new forms of classical music performance and promotion among the existing and potential audience, practicing cross-art approach, including among others ballet, sand animation, video background.

We are honored to announce that Aris Argiris will play the role of Amonasro, the King of Ethiopia in our performance.
The internationally-acclaimed baritone is one of the leading singers in front of the opera and concert public today. Argiris was born in Greece, studied in Munich and is Professor at Akademie der Schönen Künste in Berlin. He has worked with so many conductors & has rapidly imposed himself on the international scene as one of the most promising young singers in the operatic repertoire, performing regularly at the world’s most prestigious opera houses.

We are honored to announce that the National Choir Of Ukraine DUMKA will be the choir of our performance.
Acclaimed for the beauty, precision and expressive qualities of their singing, DUMKA Choruses have been an important part of the Orchestra’s programming since their founding in 1919. DUMKA creates a unique Slavic variant of West European classics interpretation, filled with lyricism, beauty of timbres, flexibility of timbres and dynamism of palette.

We are honored to announce that Mr. Mickael Spadaccini will play the role of Radames in our performance. The combination of being tall, handsome and in possession of a superlative tenor voice is rare in the opera world, but Spadaccini has it all.
Mickael Spadaccini has won the Prize of Nicolai Ghiaurov (2006) as well as 1st Prize at Théâtre de Spa (2007). The marvelous purity of tone and breathtaking virtuosity make his singing irresistible. These qualities coupled with good looks and delight in performance are sure to create a phenomenal experience.

We are honored to announce that Ms. Sae-Kyung Rim will play the role of Aida in our performance. She is known as the great adventurer of modern sopranos: a voice to die for, but coupled with absurd creative ambition and tremendous humor. She studied singing at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and at the Teatro alla Scala Academy with Leyla Gencer. Rim is one of six sopranos to play the role Aida at Arena Di Verona Italy. She has also performed Aida at Arena di Verona, Seoul, Klagenfurt, Munich and Tokyo.

We are proud to announce that Ms. Oksana Lyniv will be the conductor of our performance. She is considered one of the world’s greatest female conductors. She frequently conducts at opera houses, symphony orchestras, and music festivals including the Bavarian State Opera and Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceuthroughout Europe. She was recently named director of the Graz Opera in Austria, being the first woman to hold that position. We look forward to experiencing her incredible ability at Opera Aida, and we hope you are excited as well!
