Eliska Weissova was born in Moravska Trebová (Czech Republic) and gained her Masters Degree in Music at the Prague’s Academy of Performing Arts. Her teacher was the famous Czech baryton René Tucek.
In the past she attended master classes by Nadezda Kniplova and Peter Dvorsky.
Since 2004 Eliska Weissova is a permanent member at the Praque Czech National Theater and the Prague State Opera. In both opera houses she is singing innumberable roles.
The Highlight of this season will be her Ortrud at the National Theater Prague in a production by Katharina Wagner.
Her most important debuts outside the National Theater and the State Opera in Prague.
Weissova was awarded on several occasions:
1st prize in the Antonin Dvorak International Voice Competition in Karlovy Vary (2004)
3st prize in the Mikulas Schneider-Trnavsky Singing Competition in Slovakia (2006)
Semifinalist in the Queen Sonja Competition in Oslo (2005)
Semifinalist in the Competition dell’Opera in Dresden (2007)
Finalist in the Boris Christoff Competition in Sofia (2009)
